Randi Pointless, slow moving and boring. I probably should give it one star, but Im being nice Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/22 Full Review Fredric I thought the movie was excellent. I would describe it as willfully ambiguous. I saw it as an exploration of mortality and apathy. I also enjoyed that it wasnt too long in duration. Sitting in the theatre for 3 hours isnt really something I prefer. 5 stars! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/22 Full Review Pennie Nothing like the description and I wonder if its intentionally vague and misleading. Not much happened but at least it was short. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/10/22 Full Review Kurt E Not sure what the point of this movie was… Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/09/22 Full Review Mister Harlem Take a trip to find yourself, and never apologize for it, even in the face of terrible news. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/22 Full Review Richard L Outcome and reason completely hidden to the last scene. Try as I might, probably would never have figured it out Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

David Stratton The Australian There’s a sense of dread running through this deeply discomfiting – but gripping – character study. Rated: 4/5 Jul 12, 2022 Full Review Barry Hertz Globe and Mail Sundown is both as mean as Franco’s reputation suggests and as compelling. Apr 13, 2022 Full Review Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald Franco may be making a point about the effects of disparity in wealth, but why base it on a narrative trick? Rated: 3/5 Feb 7, 2022 Full Review Stephanie Bunbury Deadline Hollywood Daily This is a sliver of a story, told quickly, but it lingers like sunspots on the backs of your eyelids as your eyes close, tired by looking out to sea. Sep 16, 2023 Full Review Sarah Vincent Cambridge Day Franco’s cinematic character study explores the reasons for the self-imposed exile with a show-don’t-tell style that should have cineastes celebrating the lack of prose dumpers disguised as characters. Rated: 3/4 Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Alejandro Alemán El Universal In Sundown, Michel Franco presents an irresistibly visible film, in which every step plants the seeds of intrigue and mystery.
