Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/03/24 Full Review Carlos T Minha opinião: Nesta 3ª sequência acertaram a mão. Sim Nota: 8 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/02/23 Full Review Petros T Brisker, more plot-driven and set in more locales, "Ging chaat goo si III: Chiu kup ging chaat" is, perhaps surprisingly, an improvement upon the first two films. Jackie Chan meets his match in Michelle Yeoh, who brings really good acting skills and great stunt work to the table. Next to the engaging and occasionally funny undercover theme, their chemistry is what makes this film, as it's believable and fun, doesn't give in to cliches and greatly contributes to the suspense of several sequences. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/20/23 Full Review Matthew B Best of Movies/TV Series Collection Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/30/24 Full Review Taylor L With Jackie Chan out of the director's chair and the writing room, Super Cop is definitely a turning point for the Police Story franchise, but in a good way. The new script downplays the domestic comedy that was so oddly prevalent in the first two films (and probably constitutes the biggest weakness in both) in favor of a more traditional Hong Kong action design, with much more in the way of gunplay and large-scale stuntwork. There's still a fair bit of comedy at play, but it makes much more sense in the context of the film rather than rolling out buffoonery for its own sake. Michelle Yeoh dabbles in some fight choreography and proves herself an even match for Chan's acting style, plus there's a welcome sense of brutality that the first sequel was sorely lacking. Lots of creativity at play, including a great Point Break-style undercover operation and a murder by durian fruit. The action sequences in this film are years ahead of anything that Hollywood was putting together at the same time. The one thing that this franchise still can't seem to figure out is how to put together a compelling ending. The big action finale happens, then there's two lines of dialogue, then credits. Gotta get some breathing room to appreciate the spectacle! (3.5/5) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/17/22 Full Review george b A decent Chan outing with a clear increase to the budget and cinematography and yet something is missing from the charm I felt in the first 2 outings. Certainly worth a watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
