This is one of the few direct-to-video DC movies that actually has a message to convey and does it successfully in a thoughtful, engaging, and thoroughly entertaining fashion. The fact that this movie is still being reviewed and discussed regularly among superhero fans to this very day, I think says a lot about both its quality and how it serves as a testament of Superman's timeless appeal as a character and as a symbol of hope and optimism. For both fans and newcomers of Superman, this is a must watch! I rank it among the best DC animated movies, along with "Batman: Under the Red Hood" and "The Dark Knight Returns" adaptations.
