Danny Brogan Common Sense Media Billy Batson aka Captain Marvel aka Shazam must be one of the most likable superheroes in all of the DC Universe Rated: 3/5 May 3, 2022 Full Review R.L. Shaffer IGN DVD Ultimately, Superman/Shazam! is a satisfying short, but it barely scrapes the surface of this character's potential, which is just a shame. Rated: 8/10 Nov 18, 2010 Full Review Sean Axmaker Seanax.com ... a fine film, if a little stunted in scope for such a significant story, with the same high level of production values seen in earlier animated shorts release by Warner... IceTravel G The superior Shazam film. This is leagues better than Shazam 1 and Shazam 2 from DCEU >>> Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/15/23 Full Review robert g I didn't know it was a 4 part series of Spectre, Green Arrow and Jonah Hex I mean it was good, the stories could've been longer but it was OK Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite some weak voice acting from the boy voicing Billy Batson and its length preventing us from truly getting invested before the ride's over, this fun-sized origin story for the other Captain Marvel is just as enjoyable as its 2019 live-action counterpart with strong voice acting, solid action sequences (even if they don't measure to animated DC's best) and very funny moments. Maybe it could've done more to establish what made it so special to be longer than the other DC Showcase shorts but I found Superman/Shazam! fun for the most part. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an anthology movie. The longest running 'episode' is Superman/Shazam, which is great, but it's not the whole thing. In fact, if the stories weren't as short, they might not've had the dramatic or action impact that made this great. Each story is exciting and the emotional stakes are almost palatable, with characters differing quite a bit from one another, adding to the uniqueness of the individual stories and the anthology. Plus, despite the action, it has some really nice details and it's a big nod to producer/director Joaquim Dos Santos who pulled it all off. Could each story have been longer with the same amount of detail, drama and action, probably. And just that little more could've added enrichment to the characters and story. Such as the Spectre, know more about who he is and where he came from could've added to the lore. But still, the entire anthology is really good for what it is. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The Return Of Black Adam has got some really good voice actors, a good plot, some great action scenes and a decent animation but apart from that there's not that much. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This is fun to watch and I liked it a lot. The only problem is, it is more of a short film than it is a real movie. It is only around 30 minutes long. Still, if the live action Shazam movie is anything like this one, there is definite potential for it to be good. THis is worth watching, but will not take long to do so. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
