Supremacy rests on a premise that makes for high drama and surprise, though it’s not always executed. It’s the stuff of nightmarish fiction but the nonfiction source material adds a level of depth to its commentary on racism and race... Go to Full Review

Feeding over-the-top language to underdeveloped characters, Deon Taylor's "Supremacy" dramatizes racism with an unvarying intensity that quickly becomes wearing. Go to Full Review

The film plays out almost like a conventional Hollywood hostage thriller but for the incendiary, racially charged subtext. Go to Full Review

Director Deon Taylor explores the dividing lines of race, family and the hate that fuels those lines, with an intensity that at times is almost overwhelming with explosive emotion...Powerful. Emotionally charged. Riveting. Masterful. Go to Full Review

Deon Taylor's surprisingly resonant and deceptively deep film Supremacy comes at you with a hammer and ends up filleting you with a scalpel. Go to Full Review

ronald h 02/28/2022 This is a dumb, simplistic movie that even the esteemed Danny Glover can't save. The topics of white supremacy and racism should be dealt with seriously, but the two-dimensional characters here just turn the whole thing into a grim, violent cartoon. Glover is great, though. My entire two star rating is for him. See more 01/23/2021 I loved this movie. I worked for a Black newspaper so I knew of the story but to see it played out was something else. I am happy that it was made into a movie in order to preserve the story. Hopefully more people will see this and be inspired by the patriarchs actions even while his whole family was being threatened. Saved the lives of his family and the intruder.
