Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com Between the premise and the lively score, “Survive” is decent enough B-movie background noise that closely mirrors “Dante’s Peak” until something truly remarkable occurs... Rated: 3/4 Jan 10, 2025 Full Review Phil Hoad Guardian This directorial pep, along with invested performances across the board, allows Survive to build a sense of family vulnerabilities that is rawer than the standard cheap audience-identification tactics usually used in blockbuster disaster movies. Rated: 3/5 Jan 7, 2025 Full Review Alejandro Lingenti La Nación (Argentina) Being a low-budget film, Frédéric Jardin...had to resort to his imagination, for lack of resources. And it must be said that he responded well to that requirement. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Feb 5, 2025 Full Review José C. Donayre Guerrero EscribiendoCine Survive is an emotional tale that, through the connections between the members of a family, offers an absorbing vision of the survival genre [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 6/10 Jan 31, 2025 Full Review Joel Harley Starburst But there’s no accusing Survive of being dry, swinging for the fences in a narrative that plays out somewhere between The Day After Tomorrow and Mad Max. Rated: 3/5 Jan 23, 2025 Full Review Erik Childress Movie Madness Podcast The film begins with a silly alarmist set piece and then tries to up the stakes by fast tracking the fall of humanity in survivalist situations until finally arriving at becoming Starship Troopers – with crabs! Silly. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 16, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Philip S I generally hate the English tendency for dissing the French at any opportunity, however this is probably one of the worst films I have ever watched and not in a ”so bad it’s good” way but in a “I get it’s low budget but I’d rather watch an advert for pile cream than this” Plot falls: too many to mention but if them 1: if the poles flipped (grounded is science) the water would not move to where the land is, because… it’s ridiculous. Even if it did they state that the event that happens over one night will take a week to reach equilibrium. Terrible plot 2: why would one of the few people left turn into a psychopathic killer (who still loves his dog) in 24-36 hours?!? Or what are the chances that the preexisting psychotic fella is going to walk off the coast of Cuba?!? Again non sensicle. 3: crabs: ignoring that they might “evolve” over night. Have you ever had an encounter with a spider crab? They are slow in the water and effectively helpless on the land. 4: ending. I’ve no idea I’m writing this scathing review (the first one I’ve ever been motivated to write) rather than watch the end of the film. They get to the submarine (I assume) it’s left open ( I also assume. In summary instead of watching the food perhaps do something more rewarding like burning your knee caps with hot wax or sone kind of low level genital mutilation. I can guarantee you will have a more rewarding experience. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/10/25 Full Review Bruce O French people lose an ocean. Then try to save their idiot children. Not that good. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/09/25 Full Review Audience Member so many....wtf? interesting premise...pooooorly executed. WTF is with the 'main' antagonist? Its been, what, 12 hours? 24? suddenly some 'wastland wanderer' shows up in what would be miles out to sea..starving and dehydrated..and just murders someone? no sense.... WHY were there birds in the airplane that had been at the bottom of the ocean?? And the crab things? IF they were supposed to have been from the "abyss", and the ocean suddenly was just gone...they would have essentially exploded from the lack of massive pressure they were living in hours before...not gone on a murder-mob for food. Why switch from one language to another with no context for doing so? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/25/25 Full Review Alex C Parecía que prometía algo pero resulta ser un bodrio lamentable. Muy mala. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/25 Full Review Cruz C There are bad movies, there are stupid movies, and then there are movies that make you want to find the director and the producers just to slap them in the face. This is one of those. And don’t get me started on the crabs, Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/25 Full Review Jared H I’m giving 1.5 stars only because the beginning 10 min was actually suspenseful. The rest of the movie could have been produced by a 9th grader. There were random moments of sentiment in relation to characters that were hardly developed. The storyline was as dull as an overused pencil. Save yourself the time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Read all reviews
