J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Lynch, playing an abrasive TV producer, serves as an unfortunate reminder of the Christopher Guest movies that clearly inspired this exercise. Jun 23, 2022 Full Review Michael Wilmington Chicago Tribune Reality TV, says one character in Greg Pritikin's Surviving Eden, makes you stupid and ill. The movie tries hard to prove it. Rated: 2/4 Aug 31, 2006 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times Although early scenes hold out some promise that this parody of Survivor could amount to something, the movie quickly runs out of ideas. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 25, 2006 Full Review Doris Toumarkine Film Journal International If not a gift to audiences, it is an unintentional trove of how-not-to tips for aspiring filmmakers. Mar 1, 2007 Full Review Cherryl Dawson and Leigh Ann Palone TheMovieChicks.com The tribal council has spoken: this is a funny movie. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 12, 2006 Full Review Mark R. Leeper rec.arts.movies.reviews This comedy could use some polishing. With a little more style it could have been better, but there is a decent film inside this one somewhere. Audience Member This mockumentary misses the mark. There are some occasionally funny moments, but just not enough of them to make it work. I did enjoy Conchata Farrell and Peter Dinklage. It almost makes it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This is about what I think of Reality TV. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A fun, quirky indie excursion that hammers the absurdities, over-rated hystericals and obvious insanities of reality entertainment into a wonderous theater-of-the-absurd piece. Plainly fun, with very sharp edges. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie wasn't horrible, just a little bland. Kind of like oatmeal. If you need to eat, oatmeal will do, and sometimes you kind of get excited about it, but at the end of the day, it's a just a boring glob of something that resembles the marriage of vomit and feces, and tastes like cardboard. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member i thought this movie would be alot better. considering greg pritkin's previous film dummy was offbeat but sweet. this is just bad the lead actor seems to be trying to combine austin powers and john lennon into a single character with a retarted disposition. the reality show was itself stupid as a idea and the love interest was obvious as she was just as simple and naieve as him i understand the movie if the message was look at what the evil animals of the media and entertainemnt can do the supposed innocents who go on these shows just to try and win things but that is a simple take on it. this film has ideas that seem miguided or uninspired compared to how this film could have lampooned reality televiion and the few minutes of fmae afterwards. cheri oteri who i usually like in films doesn't helpher character was so hateful and just generally unlikeable it wasn't even funny. there is nothing here really to like maybe the filmmakers should have just gone back t the drawing board. Making a film about how a reality show can change you and now that you are used to all the attention how you try to maintain that attention after it begins to dry up and what you are left to do after all is said and done. plus what happens to all those friendships you supposedly share with your co-stars on the show. how do you mix when you are back in the so called real world and not forced to get to know each other there was a chance to show that or at least satire it and run with it but they just dropped the ball majorly here Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
