Andrea Gronvall Chicago Reader Neither the sweeping European vistas nor the masterful Serbian actor Miki Manojlovic can save this Bulgarian road movie from its treacly sentimentality. Nov 18, 2011 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times It's lovable in a way that's sometimes goofy, sometimes sad, always optimistic. Rated: 3/4 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Hannah Brown Jerusalem Post You know that the two are going to have adventures and bond, but watching them do this is enjoyable. The gorgeous scenery along the way doesn't hurt, either. Audience Member This is a wonderful and romantic tale written across a great canvas of Europe, from Bulgaria in the Soviet era to the earlier refugee world in Italy, to modern life in Germany. A story of individual courage not just against a former state system but against life's adversities in general and the little rule makers of modern life. May it bring out the rebel in you not in a shouting Clockwork Orange or antiglobalisation shouting way, but in a profound and human warmth. Above all it's a great story, a wandering story, well played. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Me encanto! gracias ISAT Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member This film on the Balkans deals with the heavy issue of identity in the much divided Balkan region. Politically and thematically diverse, The World is Big is charming and touching at the same time, sometimes suffering from an overload of flashback, but a stern idea as to what values develop an identity. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Very Good movie,a great attempt, has all the ingredients of a good Cinema,Go For It...Thumbs Up..! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The truth about a nation has many faces, though the facts can show some of it's nature--Simple, amazing, emotional and multi-layered!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member the answer to our deepest questions just LURKS AROUND the corner. we just need to open our eyes and free our mind from all worldly anxieties. <3 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
