Anita Singh Daily Telegraph (UK) It’s an astonishing tale of deception. Rated: 4/5 Oct 21, 2024 Full Review Carol Midgley The Times (UK) Sweet Bobby does raise more questions than it answers, leaving you with the sense that you’re not getting the full picture. Rated: 2/5 Oct 18, 2024 Full Review Katie Rosseinsky Independent (UK) This is a solid, sensitively made introduction to a jaw-dropping tale. But for the most part, it serves as a feature-length trailer for a much more comprehensive -- and much more compelling -- podcast. Rated: 3/5 Oct 17, 2024 Full Review Bernelee Vollmer Independent Online (South Africa) What makes “Sweet Bobby” compelling is not just the story itself but also the broader conversation it ignites about accountability in our digital lives. Assi's plea for recognition of the harm caused by online deception resonates deeply. Nov 6, 2024 Full Review Andrea Beach Common Sense Media This is a compelling documentary about a woman's 10-year nightmare with a catfishing Facebook account. Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Liz Kocan Decider I think the podcast tells a better version of Kirat’s story, although overall, there are just so many nuances and details to the entire saga that feel like they were left unexplored by both media. Blair K. Could not stop watching. Everyone needs to realize this story took place before social media was popular like it is in today’s age. Catfishing was not a known term back then like it is now. Do I think she was a bit delusional? Yes, but I see why. They did not include all of the details in the documentary! I can 100% see how she fell for it. The 60 different profiles, her talking to so many other people, the baby wearing the clothes she picked out, the cousin bringing her a shirt and saying she talked to Bobby, “Bobby” talking to her family, and the thought probably never even occurred to her she could be getting catfished, because who could be so cruel. The cousin needs to be in jail or some sort of punishment bc wtf?? Why even do that Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/25 Full Review Audience Member I'm annoyed at how many one star reviews are based solely on the victim being naive and gullible. The documentary itself was great. Had me curious and anxious for large portions of it. It certainly could have been shorter but one star? C'mon. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Mark J Although a good twist in the story it felt stretched out. The issue with stretching it out is that you feel less sympathy for the victim. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Alyssa R I’m upset I wasted my time watching this. This movie should have been a short film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Saurabh g Unbelievable 😍 can't believe it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Marcia M This lady is unbelievably delusional. It’s hard to even watch how absorbed she became in an internet relationship. She allowed this “person” to control her and she quit her job for him. What a dummy.
