Audience Member Sweet Talk was surprisingly good. I was going to start this review after watching this movie with my typical line of it's like watching a book. However this was presented a lot better. Although the premise of the movie being based on a phone sex line it takes a turn for the better. Give it about 20 minutes and you get whisked away on a descriptive journey like you are reading the Sweet Talk Book. The who;e story revolves around the two main characters rooms and them being on the phone but instead of talking dirty they built a whole love story on the phone that you get swept up in and get taken on their journey and you want it to work out for them etc... If this is a book or was based from a book it would be a best seller. The two main actors played the role to a tee that you felt every emotion and were glued to find out what happens. This is a little gem that the movie cover may put you off but i do recommend giving it a go it will surprise you. All you need is a little imagination and you will be taken to their fantasy land. I would say no kiddies allowed due to the concept of phone sex premise although it does not have the harsh language of adult entertainment it can take your imagination there. Let Sweet Talk whisper Sweet somethings in your ear..... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Joe Leydon Variety Hopelessly stagebound, despite half-hearted efforts to open up what's basically a talky two-hander, and risibly pretentious in the manner of softcore porn that's no sexier than glossy ads for expensive perfume. Meanwhile, Parise is reduced to talking to a pet bird to explain his emotions. Dec 14, 2013 Full Review Inkoo Kang Village Voice The mustiness of many of the script's ideas hardly detracts from what feels like a radical premise, at least in film - that a woman can get off with a stranger and leave it at that. Erica Jong would be proud. Dec 10, 2013 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Absorbing, focused and provocative despite its slight staginess. Kudos to screenwriter Peter Lefcourt and director Terri Hanauer for providing the audience with a romance that respects its female protagonist without over-sexualizing/objectifying her.
