      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Synchronicity's sci-fi reach exceeds its low-budget grasp, but it has some interesting ideas and serves overall as a nifty calling card for writer-director Jacob Gentry.

C P It's actually worth a watch. I've watched it a couple times. It's a really ambitious low budget film that over delivers. Set expectations low and you will be surprised and love the movie. It's been a while since I had last seen it but it still perked my interest. There are plot holes in a lot of places and that's just a particular nit pick but we are talking about a time travel movie so just dismiss belief for a bit and enjoy it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/03/22 Full Review Jeff A Interesting premises on time travel, but too convoluted and tedious. Acting rather shallow and I did not care enough about the characters. My time would have been better spent elsewhere. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/01/22 Full Review 1Hugh J Although low budget, the pacing, acting, and screenplay keep the viewer engaged throughout the experience. However, logic and reasoning break down at the end of the film, which provides more nonsense than rational thought. Be prepared to think because the information provided will leave you with more theories than answers. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/03/22 Full Review Audience Member Low budget sci-fi that is a bit too heady to be a 'SyFy Original.' Not overly saturated with scientific explanation and reason, nor anything new to say on the subject, and a bit too hung up on the love interest. The synthesized soundtrack was a nice touch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Definitely has a very 80s, blade runner feel to it. The music is engrossing, the pacing is fantastic. It has a believable technical background and an interesting mystery that unfolds and satisfyingly resolves all the question marks. Jan 22, 2016 Full Review Godfrey Cheshire RogerEbert.com Having such a small number of characters, like the limitations caused by budgetary constraints, might sound like a recipe for creative claustrophobia, but Gentry turns these givens to his advantage ... Jan 21, 2016 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Although an intriguing piece of science-fiction and an impressive production that will keep your attention from start to finish, it ultimately leaves the viewer fond of, but cold toward, the experience.
