Critics Consensus

Synchronicity's sci-fi reach exceeds its low-budget grasp, but it has some interesting ideas and serves overall as a nifty calling card for writer-director Jacob Gentry.

Madam D Jul 30 Time travel is my favorite genre. This was just not good. See more Mar 17 Even though this movie was strictly an Apple Itunes release- for the low budget that it had- Synchronicity gives us a dystopian dark reality viewpoint of what time travel could be like if we had the fictional tech that was featured in this movie. Although- this would not be my favorite time travel movie- this would be on my list of top 10 time travel movies- regardless of the studio making the movie and the cast members that are in it. Besides watching Chad McKnight portray scientist James Beale and watching his character in the plot of this movie- one gem in this movie is the femme fatale Abby Ross who is played by actress Brianne Davis- who does well with her character- and watching the cast members make this one work is truly awesome. I rate this movie at 3.5/5- only because I felt the budget could have been a little bit more substantial and there could have been more cast members included. See more C P 10/03/2022 It's actually worth a watch. I've watched it a couple times. It's a really ambitious low budget film that over delivers. Set expectations low and you will be surprised and love the movie. It's been a while since I had last seen it but it still perked my interest. There are plot holes in a lot of places and that's just a particular nit pick but we are talking about a time travel movie so just dismiss belief for a bit and enjoy it. See more Jeff A 10/01/2022 Interesting premises on time travel, but too convoluted and tedious. Acting rather shallow and I did not care enough about the characters. My time would have been better spent elsewhere. See more 1Hugh J 09/03/2022 Although low budget, the pacing, acting, and screenplay keep the viewer engaged throughout the experience. However, logic and reasoning break down at the end of the film, which provides more nonsense than rational thought. Be prepared to think because the information provided will leave you with more theories than answers. See more 08/23/2022 Low budget sci-fi that is a bit too heady to be a 'SyFy Original.' Not overly saturated with scientific explanation and reason, nor anything new to say on the subject, and a bit too hung up on the love interest. The synthesized soundtrack was a nice touch.
