Take Point is brilliant work that, far from romanticizing the work of private military contractors normalizes it as just a very bad job. Go to Full Review

Giorgio G @GioBlob Nov 9 Wow! Wow! WOW! Fortunately the movie started in English, as I really don't care for subtitles or dubbed versions. And as this is a South Korean movie I wouldn't even have bothered to start watching it, especially as I don't like war movies and surely don't care for mercenaries action flicks. This said I was ready to switch channels within minutes because I realized that this movie was exactly this kind of genre. But something kept me hanging on for a bit longer as the camera takes were fascinating and after a slow start of the story those shots and angles were getting constantly better to an unbelievable level which I hadn't seen in a long time. The cameramen and director deserve a perfect 10. The story is cool, with a few twists, though everything is mainly confined to a few rooms, tunnels and staircases. From early on there is incredible tension which rises continuously to the very last minute of the movie. Though there isn't a single famous actor here, and I recognized only 3 faces of secondary B actors, whose names evade me, the acting of many folks here is excellent. This flick is way better than many huge western productions with famous actors I had seen lately. 8/10 points!! See more Ronnie E 11/19/2022 The unstable & constant camera panning is nauseating and annoying, the plot & acting is awful. How can a veteran mercenary team leader be very indecisive? See more Dick C 09/19/2022 It's an excellent motion picture, touching and making me moved especially at the end... With writer-director, Kim Byung-woo, he film-makes with great performance for a strong castings... Producer-actor, Ha Jung-woo portrays with utmost and other self sacrifice actor, Lee Sun-kyun... Loved the embedded subthemes: perseverance, grit, loyalty, communication, peace and respect across fault lines. Movie guaranteed to raise your IQ a few notcbex See more 04/03/2021 Take Point (aka as PMC) is available for rental. It is in Korean (subtitled) and a variety of accented English that is often hard to understand (the Private Military Contractors hail from all over). It involves a mercenaries attempting an extraction in bunkers under the north/south Korea boarder. It goes wrong and we end up with drones, remote cameras and layered combat that sometimes is brilliant and some times is a little confusing. While the dialog is a bit clunky, the pros outweigh the cons if you want a little something different in your action film mix. 3 stars out of 5.
