Michael Norell (Tony Goldwyn) is the only witness to a mob hit, and, when the boss (Alan Arkin) finds out, he wants Michael dead. Though he's scared of the hit men who are after him, Michael is even more scared of testifying in court. Eventually, police Detective Carolyn Hunter (Lynn Whitfield) is assigned to shadow Michael and keep him from leaving -- and from being killed. As the mob closes in and Carolyn and Michael stay one step ahead, their relationship takes an unexpected turn.
