This movie was amazing, and it's definitely one of my favorite thriller movies ever. Matt Damon was absolutely sinister in this movie, and it made it so enjoyable to watch. I definitely recommend it for thriller and drama fans!

I liked the build up to & tension of the crimes. I knew some general spoilers for the movie, but the acting was incredible. I hadn’t seen Jack Davenport (Peter) in a lot personally, so he was a nice surprise!

Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) takes on many faces while traversing the many faces of Italy. A con man for whom we get little backstory, Ripley is thrust into socialite life in the picturesque, coastal town of Mongibello (Positano). The plot is a head-spinning array of attraction and envy. It is one of the better examples of an “in too deep” plot. The late 1950s Italian style is all-time. Ripley looks upon the stunningly handsome Dickie (Judge Law) at times as a cool older brother and others as an object of his desire. The way Damon is able to smile — like he’s pushing his teeth out the front of his mouth — is something I’ve never seen him do before. Philip Seymour Hoffman as Freddie, one of Dickie’s friend with the best line of the movie, “Don’t you want to f*ck everyone you see just once?” unfortunately receives the Boba fett treatment. He always was a screen-stealer. God, I miss him. The ending is shockingly dark with a lack of closure. I like it.
