Donald R This movie is about 2 hours long and will keep you thinking and you can not fall asleep in terms of following the people and the plots and the threads. It is a little bit challenging and there's not a lot of action in the sense of a James Bond movie, but for many who like to think and see and evaluate it should be an acceptable evening of watching. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review paul d Blake Edwards missed the mark on this, maybe because he wrote it as well as directed. The story overall is good raw material for a spy thriller, but it's slow, and Julie Andrews doesn't convince; she succeeds at being cold and aloof at the beginning, and that fits the plot, but doesn't evolve. The story around her changes and we are just supposed to believe that she has too. Omar Sharif is more believable. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very sweet "spy" cat and mouse plot that picks up a bit towards the end which turns out to be very predictable. If you like the actors then you will also like the movie. However there is nothing really appealing about the production with the exception of very nice tropical beaches. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Another of my go-to movies. She and Omar Sharif are amazing together! Never tire of this film! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member A British civil servant (Julie Andrews) falls in love with a Russian agent (Omar Sharif) while vacationing in Barbados; their relationship is complicated by the unknown identity of a spy within the British government. Complex, leisurely paced -- perhaps too leisurely paced -- Cold War thriller is more cerebral than action-oriented, requiring the viewer to pay attention throughout. Andrews and Sharif make a nice screen pairing, and there's terrific support from Anthony Quayle, Dan O'Herlihy and, especially, Sylvia Syms as a bitter, cynical but ambitious wife of a government functionary Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member An excellent movie! Way ahead of its time. Congratulations to Blake Edwards for great screen play and directing. 5 stars! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
