Tangerine is a series of unpredictable events, each one even more unhinged and hilarious than the last, culminating in a surprisingly warm and humanistic portrait of friendship, survival, and dignity in the margins of society. The unexpected highlight from this, however, is the impressive and commendable indie filmmaking approach from one talented Sean Baker.

Given that few movies touch on these types of characters, I thought it was interesting and well done. It was not heavy handed or "in your face" with a political message. It was just a story about people living their lives, which ended up being campy, funny, and quirky.
