Created with the effort it would take to cut three pages out of a magazine and stapling them together to form your own magazine. Go to Full Review

Just when things seem like they couldn't get any worse, a couple of songs by Phil Collins and Mandy Moore remind just how deep the bottom can be. Go to Full Review

See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 08/27/2024 Tarzan & Jane is a weak and unnecessary follow-up that fails to capture the heart, depth, or excitement of Disney’s original Tarzan. Structured as a series of short vignettes rather than a single cohesive story, the film feels more like leftover TV episodes stitched together than a true feature-length sequel. The lack of a central plot or emotional arc hurts the film most. Tarzan and Jane, once rich and compelling characters, are flattened into simplified versions of themselves with little growth or chemistry. Jane’s intelligence and curiosity are sidelined, while Tarzan feels passive and underdeveloped. The animation is noticeably downgraded, lacking the fluid movement and visual energy that defined the original. The music is forgettable and adds little to the experience. Ultimately, Tarzan & Jane adds nothing meaningful to the franchise and diminishes the legacy of a beloved Disney classic. See more Daniel S 04/14/2024 While not quite as good as the original (which is a tough act to follow, given that I first saw it on YouTube and then in the cinema back in '99), I don't think it deserves all the harsh criticism it gets. Like many Disney movies, there are elements that may go over the heads of young children, like the nod to a "love triangle" made by Tantor later in the film. It's not a must-see for those seeking the same magic as the original "Tarzan," but it's worth a watch if you're in the mood for some light entertainment. I'd rate it a 7 out of 10 because it did manage to bring a smile to my face now and then, no small achievement considering Disney's recent reliance on large-scale CGI spectacles that often miss the mark.
