Daniel S A significant improvement over 2002's 'Tarzan & Jane' - this is a proper sequel. Impressive what can be achieved with effort, right Disney? 'Tarzan II' may not reach the heights of the original 1999 film, but this third installment (despite the misleading title) in the series is actually quite good. There is a consistent storyline, albeit a prequel, and the return of Glenn Close (Kala) and Lance Henriksen (Kerchak) onscreen, with Phil Collins providing the music. The plot is simple yet enjoyable, with heart, meaning, and decent humor. It could be better, but I still appreciate its contribution. A worthy return to the 'Tarzan' universe, unlike its predecessor. Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy The general level of technical accomplishment is so high that it really stands out badly whenever something briefly drops to the normal level of DisneyToon animation. Rated: 5/10 Apr 10, 2013 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...it seems fairly obvious that adults will find Tarzan II tedious and tiresome. Rated: 2/4 Oct 6, 2005 Full Review Jeffrey Chen Window to the Movies Another needless Disney sequel, but it also happens to be animated pretty decently. Rated: 6/10 Jul 28, 2005 Full Review Scott Gwin CinemaBlend I'll take Tarzan II for the enjoyable kid's movie it is and pray Disney doesn't go for a Tarzan trilogy. Rated: 3/5 Jun 19, 2005 Full Review John J. Puccio Movie Metropolis It maintains the high audio and video qualities of its predecessor, but it's otherwise aimed strictly at the kiddie set. Rated: 5/10 Jun 14, 2005 Full Review Scott Weinberg DVDTalk.com If it's fair to knock Disney for churning out what's clearly some inferior product, I think it's only right to take note when said product starts to show signs of improvement.
