What to Know

Critics Consensus

Taurus fails to delve deeply into the creative process, but still offers some engaging insight into the double-edged nature of celebrity.

Noel Murray Los Angeles Times At its best, “Taurus” captures the tumult of the artistic process, where happy accidents and unpleasant truths are perpetually in conflict. Nov 18, 2022 Full Review Katie Rife RogerEbert.com Even in offering a cautionary tale, all it can deliver is shallow provocation and monotonous cliché. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 18, 2022 Full Review Guy Lodge Variety More nihilistic than melancholic. Feb 18, 2022 Full Review M.G. Mailloux In Review Online A classical tale with a superficially contemporary bent, Taurus feels a touch opportunistic and not particularly well observed. Dec 7, 2022 Full Review Martin Carr We Got This Covered Anchored by a music industry veteran in the form of Machine Gun Kelly, Taurus is defined by rock star cliche, yet transcends those narrow perimeters to deliver a poignant piece of drama refreshingly free of pretension. Rated: 4/5 Nov 23, 2022 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This woozy, self-indulgent, and overly familiar story about an obnoxious music star fails to generate much interest or sympathy, except maybe for those who are forced to endure him. Kelsi An emotional ride, Get your heart ready to be squished. Colson is amazing to watch, I hope we get to see him in more roles! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Matthew T I think its a really interesting film especially if you are a MGK fan and I also think he gives an amazing performance Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/29/23 Full Review J Acting is well performed. However the audience needs to see the talent that became the reason for "Cole's" lifestyle. Fame and money like that doesn't happen by accident. The audience needs a scene or two that displays the profound talent that made the world fall in love with him. At that point the audience would be on board romanticizing with the dark lifestyle that embodies the main character. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/27/23 Full Review Kim T I thought it was a really well done movie and it had some problems with the script but besides that the performance by Colson Baker aka machine gun kelly makes up for all of it I feel like he did a great job 👏 👍 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/30/23 Full Review Matthew T Great movie MGK gives an amazing performance 👏 🙌 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/27/23 Full Review Maya I actually pretty good. very in the style of Euphoria. the characters and performances are well done and it's beautifully shot. it feels almost like one and a half episodes of a TV show than a movie. I'm curious if this get's Colson a role on The Idol and interested to see what this team does next. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
