Tim Cogshell Alt Film Guide Teacher of the Year is a smart and funny movie that manages to pull off one of the more difficult balancing acts in filmmaking; it actually is smart while still being funny.> Rated: 3/5 Jun 1, 2015 Full Review Nina Metz Chicago Tribune Weirdly, this tonal combination actually works, most of the time at least. Apr 29, 2015 Full Review Jeanne Kaplan Kaplan vs. Kaplan Strouse's strong suit is his casting. His writing and directing are solid, but his ability to select the right actor makes all the difference in "Teacher of the Year". Jun 27, 2015 Full Review David Kaplan Kaplan vs. Kaplan Thanks to a highly-skilled group of comedic actors with years of experience --- largely honed on television --- and the absurdist humor of writer/director Jason Strouse, "Teacher of the Year" is a film I can heartily recommend. Jun 27, 2015 Full Review Kit Bowen The Movie Kit This excellent mockumentary highlights the business of teaching high-school kids to hilarious and poignant effect. May 23, 2015 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth The Young Folks With a strong ensemble cast... It uses the documentary style in an effective manner that kept the character beats consistent with the laughs and felt like a true winner. Rated: 8/10 May 13, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

COMPUTER G im late on this one lol .. but this movie was improv genius.. lol i dig it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/20/23 Full Review Amanda P Don't watch this because it has Michael Keegan and it's billed as a comedy. Watch this because you're a teacher or have a close relationship with a teacher and am seeking insight on what it's like to be a teacher. If you watch with the right mindset, you'll thoroughly appreciate what Jason Strouse has done on an indie budget where he himself is a high school teacher for his full-time job. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/22 Full Review Caitlin P I really liked this movie, and it was funny too (ofc) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/12/22 Full Review Audience Member We were searching around Amazon Prime for something funny and came across this little gem. So glad we did! Keegan-Michael Key isn't in it as much as the picture would have you believe, but he's so funny! So many great comedic performances. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The is the worst comedy about teaching ever. Key and Peele should be ashamed. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Totally underrated (the 100% critic doesn't really count). It's far from perfect, but it's a really funny Office-style comedy taking place in a school. I really liked it. Key isn't in it much, but his character is mostly hateable so it's not a bad thing. It's really funny. You won't regret watching it (if you have good taste). Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
