Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express The film is so intent upon keeping Kangana Ranaut centre-stage that everyone else ends up as satellites. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 27, 2023 Full Review Ishita Sengupta OTTplay Sarvesh Mewara’s Tejas is a woefully bad film that has the confidence to centre on a rescue mission when in reality it needs one itself. Jan 15, 2024 Full Review Samarth Goyal Hindustan Times Tejas is a film that soars when it comes to action but painfully crashes when it attempts to navigate complex geopolitics. Oct 30, 2023 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare While Tejas is a valiant attempt towards championing inclusion of women in combat roles, the half-baked nature of the film cushions the impact of its message. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 27, 2023 Full Review Lachmi Deb Roy Firstpost Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas will give you goosebumps and the story gets interesting towards the second half, but the film lacked in-depth research. Rated: 3/5 Oct 27, 2023 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion The thing about panning a film like this is that there’s no winning, really. All its bases are covered. Deepak K I thought it was well thought out movie but lacked the energy and convincing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/06/23 Full Review Mir Nayeem U Kangana's performance feels forced and unconvincing. The dialogues are cliched, and the action sequences lack impact. Overall, it fails to engage or entertain, making it a disappointing watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Kavita T Please don't make such movies EVER! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/05/24 Full Review Bhavnoor S Chawal Janani ponke net utte Kal di Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Paras G Tejas is a compelling and patriotic film that captivates its audience from start to finish. Despite some recent challenges faced by Kangana Ranaut's movies at the box office, Tejas stands out as a must-watch. Kangana delivers a stellar performance, showcasing her acting prowess. The supporting cast, particularly Afreen, adds depth and brilliance to the overall cinematic experience. You can catch this noteworthy movie on Zee Prime. A definite recommendation for those looking for a dose of patriotism and outstanding performances. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review Saurabh G Tejas is Kangana's and Sarvesh Mewara's ode to Indian Air force, India and women fighter jet pilots. The movie uses real life events and a well crafted story to bring to the fore the great physical and mental (often deeply personal) challenges that an Indian Air Force pilot has to undergo before serving India, and likely putting her/his own life on the line of duty. Kangana plays captain Tejas Gill who is raised by her father (an ex-DRDO employee) with an ambition to one day become a fighter jet pilot and fly India's indigenous Tejas fighter jet. Therefore Tejas is not just mere action or thrill but is more about subtle emotions, patriotism, defiance and bravado, shaped by life altering personal tragedy, haunting memories and fortitude. Kangana's brilliance is undisputed and everytime she takes on a character like Tejas, she makes sure that we get to see and experience the full arc of the character, and that the integrity of the subject is maintained even as the character is improvised and developed as the film rolls on. Tejas is a continuation of Kangana's brilliant performances and a near embodiment of her on-screen characters in Panga, Queen, Rangoon, Tanu Weds Manu (1 n 2), Rani Laxmibai, and my personal favourite "Judgemental Hai Kya." As earlier, She is just sublime and so relatable as an air force pilot who will stop at nothing when the fate of the nation is at stake. I cant think of any other actress, other than Vidya Balan, who would have pulled off and carried strongly the character of Tejas Gill on her shoulder. Love her or hate her but fact is that Kangana is the best actress and talent of India. Tejas is not just a feather in Kangana's crown, moreover it respects and highlights the great character our braveheart fighter pilots display while they fight for the territorial integrity and security of India, and a billion plus Indians.
