The movie does a great job at misdirecting your focus and creates a web of motives for everyone involved until you are sure the killer is definitely this person! Only for that person to die in the very next scene. Go to Full Review

Argento fashions a shifty, misleading piece of storytelling, one that pivots in a huge way two-thirds through.... [The movie's] outwardly neat and tidy world is no such thing. Its sleek and shiny surface lies lightly over a world of bloody chaos. Go to Full Review

... Argento has always been more concerned with style than story and his execution of the crimes is pure cinematic bravura. Go to Full Review

Jason H Sep 30 Ludicrous and illogical, but entertaining nonetheless. See more g j Jul 19 In that awkward place where its neither quite stylie enough to stand on that alone, nor quite camp enough to be so bad that it's good. See more Jack S Mar 1 Weak performances (Franciosa and Saxon seem to be in a contest for least interesting and most unappealing character), little suspense and comic amounts of blood undermine this silly and illogical thriller. The positive Tomatometer reviews are no doubt influenced by the famous director’s other superior works and also perhaps by some genuinely clever camerawork. But “Masterpiece” this is not! See more Matthew G 11/26/2024 Think I’m starting to get this Giallo thing now. The Bird with the Crystal Plumage felt like a let down not knowing what to expect but I quite enjoyed this. Story definitely comes after style but when the movie looks this good that’s alright with me. See more Sams K 10/10/2024 One of Argento's finest work. Not perfect but like almost every films of him, a cult of the genre. See more Henry M 10/01/2024 Never having watched a giallo film before, I was pleasantly surprised to find wonderful cinematography, an excellent soundtrack, and a memorable and interesting plot line. I felt invested in the mystery and was satisfied with the end reveal. Visually, an incredibly stylish movie with beautiful women. Erotic at times, incredibly violent throughout, and fully delivering on entertainment. While the scene with the dog chasing the girl was not connected much to the plot, it was so genuinely thrilling and scary and well shot that I couldn't imagine the movie without it.
