When Grandpa Sparta (Martin Sheen), the head of the Whit family, dies, his relatives reunite in Texas for the funeral and the processing of his estate. L'il Sparta (Quinton Jones) catches a glimpse of the corpse and witnesses his grandmother cutting off his grandfather's ear. His discovery leads to a revelation about his family as tensions escalate due to the will and the arrival of more relatives. Meanwhile, L'il Sparta tends to his grandfather's camel and makes a ghostly acquaintance.
