Adarsh T Thattathin Marayathu movie review : 'Premam', 'Charlie' and more: All about love at first sight, in new-age Malayalam cinema. Story:Thattathin Marayathu is a college romance. It’s the story of a boy and a girl belonging to different communities falling in love and the conflict arising out of this. Movie Review: The familiarity that permeates Vineeth Srinivasan's Thattathin Marayathu has a lovable charm. It’s a romance and inevitably the hero looks smitten and the heroine, alluring. Vineeth has cast his hero, Vinod (Nivin Pauly) in a special mould. Like all obsessed lovers, he gulps down his saliva every time he utters something to his love. He grabs his breath between controlled gasps and his eyes are a mix of plea, longing and desperation. When Ayisha (Isha Talwar), his purdah-garbed sweetheart, gently opens her thin, red lips to say that she loves him, Vinod sighs and kneels down in disbelief. Often his thoughts are wonderfully ridiculous than romantic. He feels like Sreesanth, who has just taken the wicket of Andrew Symmonds, when his ladylove opens up her heart. He feels like someone who has been starving for days being fed chicken biriyani when he gapes at her through the wooden frames of a window. Vineeth is least bashful about notching up similar scenes. A police officer receives a serious call in the morning while in bed. He looks reflective and moody. The call ends, he turns around and screams at something. The frame widens to reveal a woman by his side who is none other than his wife. In a romance between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl, crisis occurs with predictable consistency. The sense of banality is however whittled down by some heart-warming gags that are shared by Vinod's buddies. There is an innocent guy who drives with his hand-break on during an emergency. There is a policeman who primly runs a comb through his head which is bald and bright without a trace of hair. Nivin and Isha appear as lovers in the most affable manner. Vineeth has crafted his dialogues with a highly laughable sense of humour. Jomon T John has deliberately given a slight shakiness to his frames which at times attain a beautiful grace. Shan Rahman’s melodies linger in the mind and Vineeth has visualised them with appeal. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/30/25 Full Review Audience Member Superb movie.....Nivin is awsome..... But as a part of the audience I would say this movie is very strong in conveying the simple story in a way which makes you feel good. An extremely good movie or I would say a must watch movie which after its climax leaves you smiling. Am very happy to see a really good Malayalam movie after along time. even when the story was not extraordinary, well that is the beauty of it , its simple, plain and beautiful. a masterpiece by vineeth srinivasan Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member 2.5 Stars for the music, cinematography and the witty dialogues.
