Nikki Baughan Little White Lies As a piece of small-scale British filmmaking it's an interesting enough diversion. Sep 18, 2009 Full Review David Parkinson Empire Magazine A quite unsexy subject handled quite adeptly, with pretty decent performances. Rated: 3/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Nina Caplan Time Out Beck does his best, and the dialogue crackles pleasantly, but he's a caricature: a lying, cheating smear of ordure who doesn't even like books. But his sin is worse than that - it's fiction's biggest. He's boring. Rated: 2/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Neil Smith Film4 Lesley Manning's film never shakes off its theatrical roots but still manages to be sharp, funny and engrossing. Rated: 3/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Rob Daniel Sky Cinema A labour of love and principle, right down to the uncommerical ending, its message does lodge in the mind. Rated: 3/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Simon Kinnear Total Film While unmistakably a stage adaptation, Martin Wagner's droll dialogue makes the cut-and-thrust reasonably dynamic, even if Wagner's barbs about the parlous state of modern publishing will surprise no one. Audience Member A fine concept to write a script about waffle and then place a film around it makes for a rather fun dynamic for the actors. The psychological madness portrayed is an eye opener that the actors give to the characters allowing us a look into the emotions of rejection. Gently photographed with soft lighting, allowing the words to trick one into a sense of wellbeing, which is a hoax on the mind. Nibbles: Cheese Bagel. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Film version of the type of stage play that really doesn't benefit from a cinematic adaptation. It's enjoyable enough but I'd always prefer to see this performed live in a theatre. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't know about this one but I actually ended up enjoying it. The acting was good, the story kept moving and wasn't drawn out.
