Olivia M @Monroeolivia 6d B+ Not bad! First, the cast. Great performances. James Brolin and Joanna Cassidy probably got some awards for this. Director Joe Wehinger takes a TV movie script into more of a dark, indie character study. Really great scenes. Some good dialogue zingers here and there. I wish the ending went bigger. It gets bigger and bigger, then goes soft by the end. It needed an ending stomp! I’d rcommend it. See more Gusto M @Gustomarres Jun 26 What a surprising movie! We were expecting a sweet, sappy, love-dovey Hallmark movie. Instead, this bad boy goes dark and gets darker. James Brolin is a devilish dark mofo dealing with family tragedy. His wife Joanna Casidy plays heartbreaking with glamour. Supporting cast Tia Mowry, Corin Nemec, Kirk Kepper all create good moments. Director Joe Wehinger makes the movie look and feel bigger than a super low budget indie. See more Ted H @Tedhoughton Jun 21 Yep, a fun cliche, but the perfect cast and filmmaker to do it. Is the story predictable? Yes. But this one goes darker. The Director brought more detail and style, made it more fun and delicious. The cast? Nearly perfect. Anti-hero James Brolin. Distressed Mom Joanna Cassidy. Fun movie if you like this type. See more Mitchelle T @Mitchelletarama Jun 21 I could watch these every night. I love stuff like there where the "perfect family" is full of secrets and lies. James Brolin is the King of this Genre. Great casting. Joanna Cassidy is perfect is the vulnerable heartbroken wife. Tia Mowry goes from sitcom star to dark drama actress. Impressive. See more Haika L @Isabellahaika Jun 17 Truly an American story. The perfect looking family that crumbles as soon as something goes wrong. Very American. Dad is doing bad things. The Mom is neglected. The brothers are so different. Excellent performances. Some great dialogue. Good filmmaker. Difficult to watch, but well made. Kudos to producer James Brolin See more Nick K @Nickwallace Jun 9 Pleasantly surprised. We try to watch a movie almost every night. This one snuck up on me. I was expecting a boring Hallmark movie. Some kind of sweet family movie. I’m used to seeing Joanna Cassidy do comedy. She steals the show here. So beautiful and vulnerable. Incredible performance. Be warned: a tearjerker. See more Read all reviews
