Audience Member The Bodyguard (The Square-faced Bodyguard) is a 2004 wire fu action comedy film directed and written by Thai comedian and actor Petchtai Wongkamlao and featuring martial-arts choreography by Panna Ritikrai. Panna also helped direct the film. It is followed by the 2007 prequel, The Bodyguard 2. It stars Petchtai Wongkamlao, Pumwaree Yodkamol and Piphat Apiraktanakorn. It features a cameo by Tony Jaa. It was distributed by Sahamongkol Film International. Vision wrote: "the action choreography was comical and not so convincing, but still humorous. The wackiest bodyguard possible. Don't forget the Thai non-convincing Thai explosions. Tony Jaa makes an appearance and its bone-breaking. Wrong movie, dickhead. Twin-brother boxers Kaokor Galaxy and Khaosai Galaxy, portraying the "twin assassins," were worthless. Two and a half fries for the humour, especially during the fight scenes with Petchtai Wongkamlao." Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/25 Full Review Audience Member This a funny film, with its cringy CGI and parody of John Whoo action style. This film is hilarious. It's not a pile crap like Chad R stated. It's unique in its own way. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review tom k Fun and silly. Fans of Tony Jaa and Petchthai Wongkamlao films will enjoy this action comedy. You need to be aware of Thai cinema to get all the references and in-jokes, but it's enjoyable and entertaining. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Tony Jaa's Del Boy looking friend with a Gun. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm not Thai, but I'm sure they must find this movie insanely funny, because I didn't:/ It was stupid half the time, but still worth seeing with it's interchangeable storyline. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A comedy/action movie, with barely any action or comedy. So painfully boring.
