When dying millionaire Peter Laxter (Harry Davenport) instructs Perry Mason (Ricardo Cortez) to write his granddaughter, Wilma (Jane Bryan), out of his will, Laxter thinks it'll keep the family fortune safe from Wilma's greedy boyfriend. Everything is left to Laxter's grandsons, Sam (Gordon Elliott) and Frank (Craig Reynolds), with the stipulation that the family cat be cared for. A confrontation between Sam and the cat leads Mason to suspect Laxter's death may have been murder.
