Audience Member This wasn't set up in the manner that I was expecting, in that it just follows our killer as he hunts a series of centerfold girls, with no real through-line except the crazy bastard stalking these women, but honestly that was surprisingly fresh in the approach and I really dug the film, probably much more than I would have had it had the 'normal' approach to the story. All I have to say is that many people have little demand out of their Drive-In/Grindhouse fare. Cut into three parts a killer makes phone calls to some women that pose in girly magazines, murders them w/ a razor & takes their shoes. It's all done on the cheap w/ this flix even being shot on 16mm. The best thing about it is the ample display of sugar boobies even though the women weren't exceptional attractive. Instead of being a single storythread, The Centerfold Girls plays like an omnibus flim with a single serial killer uniting all of the individual narrative strands. This in itself makes it an original entry in the 70s psychological thriller genre, but even more than this it is a fun and wicked little piece of exploitation cinema. Filed with almost absurd amounts of nudity and featuring some genuinely brutal surprises, The Centerfold Girls is an original in the genre that will delight fans of horror and exploitation cinema from the 1970s.
