Audience Member (Made in the 50's, released in the 90's, for God knows what reason.) The scientific researcher, the main character of this movie [citation needed], drags the entire movie down with his monotone droning and unorthodox methods of narration. Not that it had far to go before reaching the bottom. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Filmed in 1957 but not released until 1993, The Dead Talk Back was kept in cans and long-forgotten for very good reason: it's a terrible movie. It's just one of those generic "try and scare 'em" sort of movies that doesn't really know what it's trying to do anyways. The horrible overdubbing, the terrible acting, and the lame premise come together to create something just awful. The premise, by the way, is that after the murder of a young girl, two detectives enlist a mad scientist to help find out who killed her using his experiments. It sounds a lot like a William Castle kind of movie, and it feels like that's what they were going for, but who knows for sure. As you can see in the picture above, the movie was riffed by the crew at Mystery Science Theater 3000. I'd say that it's the best way to watch the movie, overall. Otherwise, you're probably not going to get much enjoyment out of it at all and you'll probably fall asleep watching it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Stupid and terrible acting abound. Not even MST3K can make this funny, as their skits were great but the actual riffing was pretty dull. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member In a weird way reminded me of the tv series "24" as the cops answer to everything when interrogating suspects was: " Give me a few minutes with the Nun, I'll beat the truth out of her." Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Shot in 1957, and unreleased until 1993, the makers of the film were probably too embarassed to release this small film. But the past came back to haunt them.... and by the way, it may sound like it, but this is not a synopsis. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
