justin w I wouldn't call this "experimental" so much as just inanely boring. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Hard to review, since it doesn't fit the criteria I usually look for in a transporting film experience. I'd give it a bad review but its only eleven minutes and it certainly makes one feel the isolation and repetitive quality of being alone in a room. For better or worse. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Painful. Pretentious. Minimalism. Single shot. Done before. This was 1972? I thought this was 1960s Andy Warhol production? So, you're saying it's not? It's 1972 and it's just this? Really.....when Avant-Garde goes bad it tends to go real bad. I don't understand the draw to this at all other than to test your patience and the minimally decent direction. Ugh. Stay away. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A formal experiment more than anything else. I suppose it's a bit like a Snow film but less engrossing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This early short film from the immensely talented Chantal Akerman consists of a single panning shot of a bedroom somewhere in New York City. At the center of the piece is Akerman herself, lying on a bed, staring back at us. The camera circles the room a couple of times, each time Akerman is doing something different. After a while, though, the camera movements change. Like her next film, HOTEL MONTEREY, there is no audio on this short film. It's just a visually stunning and absorbing little film.
