Paul Lê Bloody Disgusting In the best way possible, The Locals is a friendship film dressed up in horror’s clothing. Audience Member just a wasting of time!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Somewhat interesting story mucked up by piss poor writing, pacing and too many unanswered questions. And it only took me two weeks to suffer through. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent low-budget horror from New Zealand that combines elements of a ghost story and a slasher flick. A couple of simple twists keep it interesting if not innovative. Not about to blow anyone away with sheer horror, but it's good-natured, a little campy, and a throwback in many ways to mid-80s style. Manages brief streaks of intensity and a little novelty about the connection between ghosts and their remains. Worth a watch; certainly better than a lot of straight-to-DVD horror. G'day. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A few pretty cool effects, tired storyline, drawn out slow and no real pay off in the end. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Wil have you hooked from the first scene right til the end. good horror flick. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The Locals, was an interesting film. The start of the movie was, well rather slow and dull. Once it got into it, it started to get weird. Like not this is awesome, weird, but more like a what the hell is going on here type of weird. By the 3rd act, some of it actually began to make some sense and there were a few twist. The third act is what really redeemed the film for me. This by far isn't a great movie by any means. The acting is decent and that def is something that helps the film. If your into films that are odd and have lots of twist then you might want to check this one out. Its worth a view if nothing else and def a film that I can see really being a love or hate type of flick with about 99% of the crowd that watches it. Def one to watch and form your own opinion about.
