Audience Member Ha apparently this film contains one of the first ever continuity errors, which involves Charlie's hat. There are some good visual gags in this short, mainly revolving around smoking, the hunchbacked assistant, and the strongman. His job is the same, but his character has developed immensely for the better. This short is somewhat abysmal due to inexplicable comic violence and lack of a plot, elements that haunt Chaplin's early shorts.
