Mark B This is not creepy it is just gratuitous. Not a good movie at all. What a waste of Christopher Lee. Do not waste your time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Julie R Wow this was bad. I watch anything starring Hillary Swank, but I suppose every great actor has done at least one awful film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review ian b Not the best film I have seen but it does drag on to its obvious conclusion. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review KEVIN C This is a very good thriller. Hilary Swank plays a tenant in an old building run by the handsome and charming Jeffrey Dean Morgan but soon after she moves in strange things seem to happen to her. I really enjoyed this one. Although they give away who the protagonist is about twenty minutes into the movie instead of making it more of a mystery. It still works as a creepy stalker type of movie. Christopher Lee is also featured. The two leads make this a much better movie than it has a right to be. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a big JDM fan and love his darker roles in the industry. I quite like this movie, but it seems a little predictable. The emotions were a little flat, not much chemistry on film. But, as I said, I'm a JDM fan so I've watched this a few times for when I'm cleaning or cooking as background noise. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Liam D A pedestrian thriller but has its atmospheric with great cinematography by Oscar Winner Guillermo Navarro (Desperado, The Long Kiss Goodnight) and a good score by Oscar Winner John Ottman (Superman Returns, Fantastic Four) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/21/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express The Resident hits all the obligatory notes in a film that's so generic that you can tell what the characters will do next much before they are primed for it. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 2, 2019 Full Review Philip French Guardian It's a conventional thriller, short on originality and red herrings but atmospherically lit by Guillermo Navarro, who won an Oscar for his cinematography on Pan's Labyrinth. Mar 14, 2011 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard Swank works hard but the Oscar-winner must wonder what she was doing in this hokum. Rated: 2/5 Mar 11, 2011 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Much of the problem here resides in the one-note characters designated to the common tropes of damsel and psycho. Rated: 2/4 Jul 31, 2023 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk The Resident is atmospherically shot but the predictable script doesn't supply enough twists to whip up truly nerve-jangling tension.
