This documentary presents highlights from four 1979 benefit performances given in support of Amnesty International. Spearheaded by Monty Python's John Cleese, they feature an array of primarily English talent ranging from comedian Peter Cook and fellow Python Michael Palin, to the Who's Pete Townshend and new-waver Tom Robinson. The film also features cameos by Scottish comedian Billy Connolly and, in a very early appearance, Rowan Atkinson of "Mr. Bean" fame.

Audience Member I only know the bit where John Cleese and Michael Palin do the dead parrott sketch and try and crack each other up. Like that bit. I'm hedging my bets on the rest. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a film of a dimly lit theatre performance and visually looks very dated. The comedy is patchy, but still contains some very funny material, including one of the funniest sketches of all time, Peter Cook's superb parody of the Judge's summing up in the Jeremy Thrope trial. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A hilarious collection of some of the funniest groups in britain. Sing if you're happy that way, Hey! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This was standard fare during my teen years. Quality British humour. Bought the recordings and knew all the skits off by heart. Now this was funny!! Don't know whether it is anything like the humour around today but that's probably okay.
