Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy are lowly French peasants who dream of greatness as members of the musketeers. Though they are rejected by that elite unit, conniving Pete hires them to "protect" Princess Minnie Mouse, believing their incompetence will make it easier for him to usurp the throne. Naturally, Minnie is instantly smitten with Mickey. And though the trio is a bit overzealous at first, they work together to uncover and foil Pete's nefarious plot.

The animation has a Saturday morning look to it, with an overall brighter, yellower cast, and the film feels like a cartoon short that's been put on the rack and stretched until it qualified as a "full-length feature."

In my opinion, this is the best Mickey Mouse trup movie ever made. I vividly remember watching the DVD on loop all the time when I was younger. The animation is still incredibly good, fluid, and colorful, perfectly capturing that classic Disney magic. It is a fun adventure with a nostalgic soundtrack that complements the chemistry between Mickey, Donald, and Goofy beautifully. A childhood classic that absolutely holds up today!

Rating: 6.9/10 ⭐️ Keeping the Donald Duck Day celebration going. Expected a cheap cash-in, but the swordplay and classical remixes honestly blew me away. What Worked: • The big opera swordfight hits that classic adventure vibe I love. • Putting clever, comedic lyrics over famous classical pieces is brilliant. • The unexpected Goofy and Clarabelle romance brings a super charming energy. The Friction: • Donald’s cowardice subplot really dragged the pacing for me. • At just over an hour, the short runtime makes the climax feel rushed. Verdict: Watch for a breezy, nostalgic adventure. Skip if short runtimes annoy you.
