It does everything by the formula but lacks in organically progressing the character development leaving the message being told feeling rushed See more jon c 12/01/2020 I completely missed this 20 years ago when this came out Maybe because it wasn't as big as other Disney channel original movies at the time It's one of the more shorter ones taking place around Christmas Basically two best friends Allie and Samantha want the best Christmas vacation and with the lack of snow in California they may have found a solution Turns out Santa clause has a small cottage where they live, he throws out a strange device and they both decide to take it home with them The discover it's a weather making machine that can make it rain, storm, make earthquakes etc Allie and Samantha come up with the idea of making their own snow day so they can finish their homework and get invited to a cute guy's party At first it seems like a miracle with school cancelled and a weatherman named Edwin finally making a name for himself as a meteorologist But problems arise with the snow reaching several inches, canceling Allie's father's flight to come home along with her other relatives, and potentially ruining Christmas for Santa Claus Edwin then decides to get greedy and plans to take the weather making device for himself So now they have to get the machine back and fix the weather to save the holidays A simple premise with a simple enough kid like charm to it Nothing too grand but still a nice time killer with a nice amount of cheese to it The Ultimate Christmas Present is more than just a snow day and we can all learn that See more 12/12/2015 Great Christmas movie from my childhood!
