It’s a simple film, but more powerful for it: a film in defence of words which doesn’t need many to make its point. Go to Full Review

Asher C @asherch.ng 5d The ABCs of Book Banning is a powerful short documentary that shows how censorship directly affects children and the stories they are allowed to experience. What makes the film so meaningful is how it centers the voices of kids, who speak with a kind of honesty and clarity that adults often avoid. Hearing them explain why these banned books matter to them highlights how strange and harmful it is to remove stories that reflect real identities and histories. See more Sophia E @sophiaelie 5d This film did a great job in portraying how book banning effects students. "The ABCS of Book Banning" was meaningful in depicting the kids' disappointment in being denied access to certain books. Their maturity in their explanations was very nice to watch. See more Morgan T @MorganToland 6d The ABSc of Book Banning revealed to me the corruption observed within education, especially for the younger generations. I enjoyed how students themselves were able to provide first hand accounts about the restrictions they've experienced. Not only that, but it made me hopeful for the future, as these children are confident that the banning of certain topics has been done so wrongfully. All of them talked so intelligently and had such good perspectives on book banning. The film felt very emotional and I had no clue this was happening so I know It brought awareness to me and so many others. See more Samara C @SamTheFilmCritic Dec 5 The ABC’s of book banning was super informational and well directed. I appreciated the film involving the people that this affects the most, the children. Highlighting the children tell their side of the story and sharing their opinion was very impactful. I think this film should be shown in schools. It was very good. See more Klara E @klara.eshuis Dec 5 The ABCs of Book Banning opened my eyes to how far the government is willing to go to control what young people can read and learn. Hearing kids speak directly about how book bans limit their understanding of the world made the documentary even more powerful and emotional. I was struck by how many important stories, especially those about women, marginalized groups, and real social issues are being removed before students ever get the chance to learn from them. Overall, the film was very meaningful because it showed how essential it is to protect the freedom to learn and to pay attention when those in power try to restrict it. I highly recommend watching.
