Tim Cogshell CineGods.com "...while walking a well-trod path for movies in the demons-and-witches genre, [The Accursed] still manages to boil with toil and trouble. Bad news for its less fortunate characters but great for lovers of classic blood and gore." Rated: 3/4 Oct 13, 2022 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix The Accursed is full of half-baked ideas that are terribly mishandled. The acting is subpar. There's hardly anything scary about this low-quality horror flick, which has a fixation on showing disgusting things coming out of elderly women's mouths. May 7, 2023 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media It kicks off with a terrific opening scene, but that promise is soon dashed as this horror movie rolls out dull characters and predictable plot turns. Ultimately it winds up feeling overly familiar and half-hearted. Rated: 2/5 Oct 15, 2022 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies [T]he story keeps following the same, anticlimactic pattern. Rated: 1/4 Oct 13, 2022 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Lewis is no help, keeping this exceedingly dull tale of trauma and dark magic crawling along, showing surprisingly little interest in thrilling viewers for the Halloween season. Ricardo d Mesmo com alguns erros, é assistível esse filme que lembra A chave Mestra com qq outro de possessão. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/25/24 Full Review Craig B The Accursed is a decent enough horror movie with some chilling moments, as long as you go in with mid level expectations. A reasonable cast and a decent plot make for a not entirely terrible viewing experience as suggested by many of the reviews. Whilst there are plenty of superior horror movies featuring demons and occult themes, The Accursed is creepy enough to keep you engaged during its not overly long runtime, passing the time without leaving you with lasting memories. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Pierre-Luc H I decided to watch this movie without even knowing its title, as I chose it randomly based on the poster, which looked pretty cool. Although far from being the movie of the year, "The Accursed" was quite entertaining. The actresses' performances were decent, but that's not necessarily why you watch this kind of film. It's a good way to pass the time, with a glass of wine (or two), some candles, and a gloomy atmosphere; I enjoyed myself. Did I love it? Meh, not really, but I didn't hate it either! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Audience Member Don’t waste you time. Horrible movie. Bad acting. Not scary. Boring. Real snoozer. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/15/23 Full Review Meydiana R Story is incomplete Warning: Spoilers Even though I have been the horror movie admirer, I did not like the movie. I do not know why but actually in recently times, the most of horror movie is being written incomplete. There is no complete reason-result relationship, no deep character background, no detailed case working.. etc. In this movie, there is witch character living inside the tiny house, and using evil forces in return of money, or blood. This is too cliche detail about Satanism. I think in the movie, the book, shapes on the floor are the symbols of Satanistic rituels. So, We are not able to know what is really going around and why? Why is Eleanor's blood given to Witch? What is blood importance for the movie? What is meaning of being cursed for people in the movie etc.. As you can see the most of details were not written. By the way, there are no horrifiying scenes.. Just jump scares once or twice times.. That's all.. Its end is different cliche.. I do not like this type of end.. ''You thought you were freed, but actually you were not.'' Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Another horror that struggles to effectively blend ancient elements and realistic current day plot lines. Nurse goes to take care of Suvari's mom. Turns out, mom's dead and they've been playing with blood to put curses on families...but none of it (including the demon that comes outta grandma) is effective.
