Audience Member Abuse. The film was made with real live animals, no green screen. These cats and dogs were mauled, drowned, swallowed and pecked to death by birds bears and snakes. I don’t care if the film was “cute” or “wholesome”, the making and directing of the film was completely inhumane. Ben Hur is an awful person and didn’t even consider using a green screen instead of these poor innocent animals. If I could - zero stars. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/21/24 Full Review Byron H 3/4 An adventure it still is to watch. A coming of age tale with no people. It holds up. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Audience Member Adorable flick for cat and dog lovers. It's pretty silly listening to Dudley Moore narrate all the animals but from the looks of it the filmmakers had pretty good trainers for a lot of the interactions. It's almost like watching a nature documentary but for kids. You'd think a cat and a dog would not get along at first because of the natural order of the animal kingdom but luckily these two become fast friends. They have all kinds of adventures from bird hatching to escaping hungry bears to braving the elements to starting lives of their own. Overall it's all about finding each other again and working together to find their way home. It's one of those animal flicks that would start the trend of familiar stories like Homeward Bound and Far from Home. It only takes two best friends to make it safely back. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/26/24 Full Review Jordan B Ignoring the dark behind the scenes of this film, this film is still a great family film to watch with the kids, it has a great ending and it is an adorable time, about family and friendship. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/03/24 Full Review Robin H Animal abuse and possible deaths, horrible what they did to those animals. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review JonahBoris B I wanted to like this movie, but at the same time, I've heard and seen some pretty messed up things about it. Apparently, there was a lot of animal cruelty that was involved in the movie and the fact that the film makers got away with it makes it even worse. It's really sad, because I love the concept of cute animals interacting with each other for a movie, but not if it means they get hurt! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
