Sadly, it ultimately builds to a would-be shocking twist that is not nearly the game-changer it claims to be, leaving viewers with more questions than answers. Go to Full Review

The Astronaut has a lot going for it, but, like the lead character in the opening scenes, it doesn’t quite stick the landing. Go to Full Review

Varley’s grip, her taut observation of nerve-wracking isolation, loosens and the film devolves into a blunt and clichéd consideration of family. The transition is awkward, and more cartoonish than moving, as the performers try to regain their footing. Go to Full Review

The Astronaut fails to sustain the complexity of its own questions. The feeling it leaves us with is that of a story that could have gone much further had it embraced its ambiguity until the end. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Architecture fans will surely enjoy the gorgeous glass-walled house with its stunning green views; the film's finale is effective, too. But there's a chance you'll have aborted this mission long before that arrives. Go to Full Review

K. H @RT41423953 2d WTF ??? I just want my 1h31m back See more Emma S @Chaapuuu 2d What the fuck sort of plot twist was that!? It was so good to start with, what the hell!? See more Mark L @RT59289700 5d With a good cast and a promising start, it became nonsensical, an astronaut being assessed on returning to Earth, yet left alone at night to fend for herself in an isolated yet fully high-tech house. Viewers might also notice a scene that’s remarkably similar to one in the first Jurassic Park (if they stay with it long enough). A potentially good story that could have told in a much better way. Disappointing. See more David J @RT99042485 Apr 26 It’s just Alien but in a nice house, complete with inexplicable gas bursts from the ceiling. Lots of footage of the protagonist falling down stairs, tripping over, and running down corridors without closing the door behind her. The aliens themselves look like a 7yo’s craft project. The ending makes little sense, but is also a blessed relief because the film is over. See more Mary M. @RT02500099 Apr 24 Terrible writing, incredibly stupid storyline. Woman returns from NASA mission and is housed in a luxury home miles from civilization under government evaluation. She experiences medical anomalies but doesn't tell her medical team. Cicadas swarm the remote house, and she relies on Google for info, rather than contacting her NASA team. Just totally unbelievable. Ending sucked a fatty. I only recommend this to die hard Mara Rooney fans. See more Chris P @cparm54 Apr 22 I was in the mood for something spooky and stumbled on this. It is listed as a "horror/sci fi/mystery & thriller." The sci-fi categorization should be first. They set up the horror side of it okay but toward the end it becomes a straight up sci-fi movie. I would break it down as such sci-fi 70%, mystery/thriller 20% and horror 10%. It's not a terrible movie but it was so out of line with my expectations and hopes that I didn't enjoy it.
