ashley h The Bamboo Prison is an excellent film. It is about American POWs who struggle to escape from a North Korean camp. Richard Francis and Dianne Foster give amazing performances. The screenplay is well written. Lewis Seiler did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama. The Bamboo Prison is a must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member life during wartime-Korean style Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay prisoner of war film set during the Korean war. I think I would have liked this film less if I'd had been set during WWII, but the Korean setting made this routine POW film somewhat more interesting. The story revolves around a US officer, Robert Francis, pretending to collaborate with the North Korean communists in order to spy for the American. He suffers all sorts of hate by his fellow POWs for his supposed collaboration, except for Brian Keith, who is the one other POW who knows what he's doing. You've seen this film a hundred times before and this one really does' have much to distinguish it from others. Stick with "Stalag 17" or "The Great Escape."
