Ben Kenigsberg New York Times Far less crazy than it wants to be and far more soporific than a synopsis would suggest. Aug 22, 2019 Full Review Greg Carlson Vague Visages Esterhazy’s direction is consistently flat and uninspired given the nonstop opportunities for twisted weirdness, but the failure of The Banana Splits Movie can be pinned almost entirely on the sawdust-packed script… Nov 8, 2023 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts I feel like it was such a missed opportunity in this film not to go completely zany, over-the-top, kooky. Rated: 4/10 Oct 13, 2020 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Slasher comedy-horror isn't a kid-friendly reboot. Rated: 1/5 Sep 25, 2020 Full Review Erin Maxwell L.A. Weekly There are not enough laughs to be scary and the scares are too feeble to be effective, but a few gory kills save the pic from landing in Dullsville, USA. Aug 3, 2020 Full Review Ryan Larson Ghastly Grinning Yes, it's silly. Yes, the acting is bad. However, in an era of some of the best, most dread inducing horror we have ever had, sometimes it's next to throw ourselves back to a 90's horror camp era and just enjoy the kills. Nikolas M I love The Banana Splits Movie it’s based like fnaf and hopefully we get a sequel for this! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Rory L It's a stupid, stupid movie but it's a ton of fun. The kills are like a watered down Terrifier. The gore is still there, but it's not super excessive like the kills in that movie. I recommend to add this to your "bad, but fun" horror movie list. It's also obvious that the "animatronics" are just people in suits so you kind of have to buy into the fact that they're animatronics. Other than that, the movie is cool and I recommend it! I think it's worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review kathryn s terrible movie. never even watched. never will watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Robert B I loved it. Watched it few times and can see myself throwing it up on a drive-in screen in the back yard for a campy horror night with popcorn. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/24 Full Review Audience Member This is a pretty good movie it's kinda like five nights at Freddy's Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/30/24 Full Review DANIEL C the movie isn't perfect, but it was definitely great. sure, the acting doesn't really scream amazing, but the gore level and story overall makes it, well, great! definitely loved it, even started an obsession over it! definitely recommend the watch!
