Wenlei Ma News.com.au Martin McDonagh expertly threads humour and pathos like a master weaver who knows exactly when to change colours. Rated: 4.5/5 Jan 2, 2023 Full Review David Stratton The Australian The Banshees of Inisherin is not just a beautifully written screenplay. This deeply affecting, warmly humorous, beautifully acted and handsomely photographed (by Ben Davis) film is a major work and top of my list for the best film of 2022. Rated: 5/5 Dec 23, 2022 Full Review Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) As a comedy duo, Farrell and Gleeson are money in the bank, just as they were in McDonagh’s first feature In Bruges. As a pairing of actor and filmmaker, Farrell and McDonagh are no less in sync. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 23, 2022 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a low-key and often excessively deliberate endeavor that never quite becomes as engrossing or captivating as one might’ve anticipated... Rated: 3/4 Aug 7, 2024 Full Review Calum Cooper In Their Own League The comedy is a veil for deep, complex themes that give “The Banshees of Inisherin” humour and pathos. Among these are measured explorations on toxic masculinity, loneliness, and purpose. Rated: 5/5 Jul 15, 2024 Full Review Joonatan Itkonen Toisto.net It’s a film that merrily embraces fairy tale elements, enveloping us in a grim fable where good and bad are murky concepts at best. Scenery was very good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Pat Strangest movie i've seen in a long time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/08/23 Full Review Linda W Fantastic acting, but dark. Once the donkey died, I was upset. Don't like animals being killed off as a plot device. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/05/23 Full Review NK Well written and acted. Irish countryside was magnificent! Sad story with moments of offbeat humor. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/05/23 Full Review Debra Worst movie ever. Chopping off fingers, killing a donkey .
