In the middle of his journey down the rugged Florida coast, intrepid postman Steven Pierton (Jerome Courtland) acquires a traveling companion -- Sylvanus Hurley (Robert Cummings), a fugitive who desperately needs to mail a massive amount of cash. En route to Miami, the two find themselves tailed by impish tomboy Adie Titus (Terry Moore). The three embark on a series of misadventures and unwittingly become the targets of a pair of devious bayou characters.
