4 Stars is surely a minority review - but if something feels anything like a Guy Richie movie and takes me back to Vinnie in "Two Guns and a Smoking Barrel," … I'm all in. And the musical score was a bonus. Great cinematography especially use of shadows. I don't care how many dimensions the characters had; they were great.

THE BIG UGLY is exactly that — a drooling screenplay pandering to profoundly unrealistic, vacuum headed, strutting big balls mini dicks worn outside the pants to demonstrate thoughtless, defensively defiant proof that an audience with a practically complete, knuckle dragging, low forehead lack of intelligence actually does exist. This absurd flick's obviously trolling for and accommodating incapably burnt out, stupid alcoholic, coke and meth freak types; just UNBELIEVABLY shallow — and, I didn't like it either (LOL!).

There are elements to this movie that I liked. It's set in West Virginia and involves a British mobster doing business with the town's sheriff regarding some sort of oil deal. Then it kind of becomes a revenge movie mostly as the son of the sheriff kills the girlfriend of the British mobsters number one associate. So it's kind of muddled. It does have a good cast including Malcolm McDowell, Ron Perlman and Vinnie Jones. Seems like this would've worked better as a straight revenge flick than bogging it down with a mostly uninteresting and underdeveloped sub story

honestly proper poo film. i created an account just to leave this review i like revenge films but bald fella was just gettin battered everywhere. got like 2 sly hits in ,one with a rock, and and then just continued to get rattled. he only got his "revenge" after once again gettin battered just to snap the hillbilly's neck after he got shot by some other hillbilly. said he had a "steady hand" but didn't get one shot on proper stormtrooper idk how to write a good review but if u can take anything from this one don't be arsed to watch it
