02/12/2015 Oscar nominated animated short. This British short about two brothers disagreeing about how to take care of their ailing mother includes mixed media. There are dollhouse miniature models filmed with stop-motion, hand-drawn characters brought into perspective even though drawn on 2D surfaces in the 3D environment, as well as paper cut-outs that allow the characters to bridge the gap between 2D and 3D. The style shows skill, but doesn't exactly mesh to avoid being a distraction to the story. See more 02/08/2015 This film is a little funny but mostly sad but pretty good.
