There he finds his former colleague and best friend locked up there for the murder of his wife. Yehia's comeback forces him to overcome his chaotic life only to find himself drawn to his best friend's illness that makes him question his own sanity. Khaled el Sawyy's excellent performance once again blows it away. The cinematography was jaw-dropping as well as the score, pure Egyptian originality that is worth applaud. The highly acclaimed novel 'The Blue Elephant' adaption to the Egyptian theaters thrives not only to fulfill its readers expectations but also opens the long-closed door to the fantasia genre in the Egyptian cinema. With a hole new level of film production and CGI, the film might open a chance to reach like Bollywood and Hollywood, the film industry Egypt has been longing to reach. See more 08/18/2014 Lame story with even lamer ending than the unreasonable novel ending, the directing suffers incredible reduculas over use of slow motion style...boring long close up scenes and ripping off scenes from famous forign movies not to mention even from Harry Potter.. Only the acting was amazing though also soundtrack and the camera man Directing and Story Sucks See more 08/16/2014 Only for the marvelous music by Hesham Nazih, the nice cinematography, the outstanding performance of Khaled Elsawy... OTher than these three factors the movie's pace was too slow that you could have finished the 500 pages novel while still at the first half of the movie! it was torture, and i was expecting a lot more than what i watched if at least they followed the novel's intriguing pace!
