Daniel N Best movie ever! The use of orphans, free actors and a cute homage to Tommy Wisaeu makes it a must see movie! Best part is that it's free on YouTube! Want a good laugh? Needed to watch a B movie? Want s movie that all can watch? This is the best movie for it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Irene R The writing is terrible. The plot uses every ridiculous trope imaginable. The sound production stinks. Some of the acting is passable, some of it is downright awful. The plot points, even minor ones, are often unbelievable (like one of the housekeepers growing flowers for the estate in the middle of winter "in her room" and her fellow spinster and sister housekeeper who looks to be about the same age as the protagonist recalling all the things she did for him when he was a little boy). It really is abysmal. If you can get past all of that though, it might be a sweet tear-jerker of a story for you. But this softy, who expected to be blubbering by the end of the movie, didn't shed a tear. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/24 Full Review Karl P The Borrowed Christmas is a BLESSING! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A new Christmas tradition in our house! The comic relief of Willie's character made us laugh several times. An overall "feel good" holiday movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A heart warming story about the true meaning of Christmas! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I respect all they were trying to do and the class they show in doing it. That said, there was not one aspect of film production that succeeded. The direction, cinematography, lighting, sound, music, all were barely serviceable and, at times, laugh out loud bad. The script was a huge fail with inane dialogue and a complete and total lack of surprise. From the first scene I knew exactly how this film would play out. As to the acting, being kind I would say that aside from the leading lady (who was pretty good), most were just adequate. There were two performances that were so completely horrid that every time one of them came on screen, the movie ground to a halt. No names since one of them was a child and does not need to be trashed at his/her age. I blame the director. Suffice it to say that neither one could play a boulder with any level of sincerity. Yet I have to admit the characters did grow on me to a degree and I found myself emotionally involved at the climax. A little. My best advice to the writer/producer/director Chip Rosetti - you need an independent producer who can and will tell you when it isn't working. By keeping all the reins, you lost a real chance to make something special out of a worthwhile notion. I wanted this to be a terrific Christmas present but what I got was coal.
