Housewife Jimmy Dade (Bridget Fonda) stays with her violent husband, Frankie (Hart Bochner), even after his abuse leads to the loss of her hearing. When his car is found with an unidentifiable dead body inside, police officers John Box (Kiefer Sutherland) and Andrew Ramsey (Steven Weber) suspect Jimmy has killed him. But, after discovering her bank account has been emptied, Jimmy fears that Frankie is still alive, and she goes on the run -- with the police in pursuit.

Solea S Bridget Fonda shines in this classic domestic violence movie with a noir twist. It highlights the problems victims of violence face from law enforcement, an uncaring society in general, and their less than sympathetic families. Bridget is Jimmy Dade, a woman whose husband has beaten her to the point where she loses her hearing, but also begs her to forgive him. She can't trust the cops now that she's the one they want to arrest, so what is she going to do? This movie is triggering if you come from family violence, and such a realistic performance from Bridget Fonda. This film reminds us that No one really helps you when you're in this situation.
